CD4060 Timer Circuit 1 minute to 2 hours

This is a 1 minute to two-hour timer switch. The 14-stage binary ripple counter Type 4060, IC1, has an on-chip oscillator capable of stable operation over a relatively wide frequency range. In the present circuit, the oscillator frequency is determined by an external RC network connected to pins 9, 10 and 11.

When the power is on, the pulse at junction R6-C2 resets the counter and counting starts. When the counter reaches bit 14 (Q13), pin 3 goes high so that the relay, a 9V type, is turned on via driver Q1.

The time delay is set with the aid of VR1. Time delays of between one minute and two hours are possible by appropriate dimensioning of the timing components:

1-30 minutes: C1 = 220nF ; VR1 = 500KΩ.
1-60 minutes: C1 = 470nF ; VR1 = 500KΩ.
1-120 minutes: C1 = 470nF ; VR1 = 1MΩ.

The timer is powered by a 9V PP3 battery. Light-emitting diode D1 does not affect the operation of the circuit and is included merely to show that the timer works. Diode D1 and resistor R4 are , therefore, optional components.

Discrete Class AB Transistor Audio Power Amplifier Circuit Diagram

This is a class AB transistor power amplifier. It is a simple amplifier to build, uses standard parts and is stable and reliable.  The entire circuit utilizes commonly available components and may be simply built over a general-purpose board. But this amplifier has very good sound quality.

There are eleven transistors, including four in the output stage. Q1 and Q2 transistor must be between 3 and 5  amperes power transistors. Q4 and Q5 must be between 100mA and 500mA driver transistors. Other transistors are 10mA small driver transistors. Q1, Q4 and Q2, Q5 are complementary pairs, they make complementary darlington pairs.

For the design of transistor amplifiers there is a new software available: TransistorAmp. With TransistorAmp you are able to create your individual transistor amplifier with a few mouse clicks. TransistorAmp is freeware.

The tool TransistorAmp has a very easy to use user interface. You start every design with the menu item “New Amplifier”. In the pull-down-menu you choose your desired circuit. You can choose between,

• common-base-circuit
• common-emitter-circuit
• common-collector-circuit

After that you get a dialog, where you have to put in all parameters of your amplifier.
For the selection of the transistor type you can click on the button “Select transistor type from list”, and you will see a list of all supported transistor types. TransistorAmp supports some thousand transistor types. Select your desired transistor type there and click on OK. The selected transistor type will then be displayed in the dialog.

When you have completed your input in the dialog, you click on OK and see the result. You see a window with your input data, the circuit, the component values and the most important parameters of the operation point. If you want to change your design, you only need to click again on “New Amplifier” and the circuit in the pull-down-menu. The input data, which have given will be restored to the input dialog, and you can change one or more parameters.
When you are satisfied with the result, you can click on “Result – Save”. TransistorAmp saves all data which is displayed in the result window to a HTML-file. You can open this file with a browser (e.g. Firefox or Internet Explorer), inspect it and print it.

OVERVIEW: Program calculates optimal dimensions of coils for wanted inductance. It is simple to use but flexible so it can help you not just to make calculations but to find optimal measures or experiment with very flexible parameters.

USAGE: You should know some theory about calculating coils.

There ar two modes: optimal coil calculator and coil inductance calculator.

OPTIMAL COIL CALCULATOR isused when you have to make coil of known characteristics. It allows you to experiment with different coil parameters to get to the optimal values. If you set wide range of parameters, it will try to find most optimalby itself.

Default values will help you understand how application works. There is also drawing explaining what is meaning of each parameter. Some parameters are presented as range. You may use this range to force specific values for that parameters. If you want to limit range to single value, just set both min and max to the same value.

If you are not certain which range will do the best for wanted calculation, set large ranges. Calculation will take some time but it will give you some results. Our sugestion is to increase step value to cut the time. In that way you wil get rough caculation but, once you get it you will be aware what range you should set to get finer result.

COIL INDUCTANCE CALCULATOR helps you calcualte inductance od the coil which dimensions you know. It is helpful when you get unknown coil so you can only measure it’s dimensions.

You can still use this program to determine how big EI core of transformer must be, if you plan to buy transformer. Note there are lot of transformers that are hybrids, so if you need transformer for amplifire buy right sized transformer. Hybrid transformer are ordinarily small and under high load it can overheat.

This program can calculate values only for standart transformer core, that’s “W” and “U” profile of core.
Toroid transformers (ring profile of core) and others aren’t supported.
